Dissent is prevalent all around the world, it is an inescapable action that is included within the biological makeup of humans. Since it is a portrayal of specific emotion, beliefs, or convictions, throughout this project we explored how its portrayals differ across the world. This thought inspired another thought, what is the importance of context to dissent? What happens if people exchange modes of dissent that are only relevant to their culture? These were the questions that brought dissent roulette to life. Dissent Roulette is an international design project that explores the highs and lows of decontextualizing dissent and tests the bounds of design as we know it.
